Position Summary::Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is looking for a part-time Food Service / Cafe Assistant who will provide a range of personal, academic, and career training and instructional services to facilitate the development of students of varying abilities entering and progressing through the College’s Food Service program. Assists in the overseeing and provides coaching to students in a Café setting.
Required Education/Experience::- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- One year of food service professional experience.
- ServSafe Certified, or the ability to become certified within six (6) months of employment.

Duty and Responsibility::Establish and maintain a coaching relationship with students in designated area, to provide academic coaching; communication with students to occur on a regular basis via face-to-face and possible distance interactions. Interactions will occur in both a classroom and café setting.
Duty and Responsibility::Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
Duty and Responsibility::Provide students with academic and workplace success strategies which facilitate a successful transition to appropriate courses, foster retention, and promote completion of credentials
Duty and Responsibility::Train and monitor students in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Duty and Responsibility::Apply ServSafe knowledge and practices into real-time settings
Advocate for the successful Food Service Program and its graduates into possible employment opportunities
Provide training, guidance, and information regarding specific areas of food service
Duty and Responsibility::In absence of direct supervisor, may be requested to complete inventory, ordering, and stocking.
Monitor, document and track student attendance and academic progress
Duty and Responsibility::Deliver timely and accurate information to students about resources and services available such as, academic services/support and personal counseling
Duty and Responsibility::Assist in the development and maintenance of materials for students and participants
Duty and Responsibility::Respond in a timely and professional manner to student and parent/guardian inquiries
