The Opportunity: Front Desk Receptionist
We are seeking a reliable, professional and welcoming Front Desk Receptionist to join our Pike Community. The Front Desk Receptionist works with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to ensure that families, students, faculty/staff and visitors feel supported as they enter, interact and leave the Pike School. This is a part-time, in-person hourly position during the school year (Late August – Mid June). The scheduled hours are 12:15 pm – 5:45 pm Monday – Friday. Based on the scheduled hours, this is a regular part-time position, eligible for commensurate benefits.

 

The ideal candidate will require a keen attention to detail, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with a high level of self-direction. Strong written and verbal skills and approaching your work with enthusiasm and flexibility will be key strengths that benefit the responsibilities of this position. 

 

The Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Welcome students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Oversee phone calls including courteous assistance and  transferring to appropriate extensions
  • Support dismissal to students during the school day and for afterschool programs
  • Be an informed and dependable member of the Pike safety team as it relates to front desk communications and protocols
  • Support the organization and distribution of name tags
  • Distribute mail to faculty and staff mailboxes
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as needed for Auxiliary Programs.

Desired Qualities:

  • Essential computer skills are a must and include a strong working knowledge of Google Suite, and experience with registration database navigation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve
  • Excellent cultural competency 
  • Personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice and the requisite skillfulness and cultural competency to engage with all community members in a respectful and inclusive manner 
  • Demonstrated discretion with sensitive and private information 
  • At least one year previous experience working with customer service or relevant.
  • Have a collaborative spirit  and excellent interpersonal skills.

Hourly Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.70
