Summary:

This position supports the FSQA Supervisor in overseeing shift inspectors and ensuring food products meet safety and specification standards. Responsibilities include coordinating FSQA Technicians' activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and inspecting beef, poultry, pork products, and potential allergens.

  • Receive daily plans from the FSQA Manager, delegate assignments to FSQA Technicians.
  • Monitor FSQA Technicians' progress and production activities.
  • Brief FSQA Technicians on assignments, production schedules, and critical areas at shift start.
  • Train and develop FSQA Technicians.
  • Review daily FSQA records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate non-conformances, isolate non-conforming products, and address root causes.
  • Report quality and food safety issues promptly to the FSQA Manager.
  • Inspect products for compliance with specifications and quality control.
  • Follow USDA and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: College education preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year in the protein industry or QA.
  • Computer Skills: Basic skills preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Special Skills: Ability to complete Tyson paperwork, lead and motivate, solve problems, interpret product specifications, function under stress, and work flexibly.
  • Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).
  • Supervisory: None
  • Travel: None
