General Manager of Shared Services at Twin Cities Jesuit High
Job Description
The General Manager of Shared Services is responsible for overseeing facilities and shared support functions for Urban Ventures Leadership Foundation (UVLF) and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (CRJHS). Campus facilities are located in South Minneapolis at 4th Avenue and Lake Street. This role directs all building and property management and capital project activities, supports program leaders in determining facility needs, develops operational and contingency plans, and ensures that all campus operations have appropriate security, maintenance, and custodial support.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership and Communication
- Lead, motivate, and inspire staff across Shared Services functions. Model responsible leadership by keeping commitments. Ensure teams are held accountable for facility policies and procedures.
 - Provide regular updates and reports on building status and maintenance activities to stakeholders. Frequently walk through campus spaces and observe building operations.
 - In collaboration with Condominium Board members, develop annual goals and work towards their completion. Report on progress throughout the fiscal year.
 - All other duties as assigned by Lake & 4th Condominium Board members.
 
Compliance
- Ensure all facilities meet local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
 
Financial Accountability and Contract Management
- Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage annual CPC building operations and campus infrastructure budgets.
 - Maintain multi-year facility-wide capital repair and replacement schedule.
 - Manage financial and operational aspects of rental spaces.
 - Draft and enforce lease agreements.
 - Ensure all properties are well-maintained and compliant with regulations.
 
Facility Operations
- Supervise maintenance staff and outside vendors for all facility-related services, including daily cleaning, HVAC maintenance, exterior upkeep, and event setups.
 - Manage routine maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, fire safety, and other systems.
 
Facility Repair and Improvement
- Oversee property maintenance, construction, and improvement projects.
 - Ensure quality work, adherence to timelines, compliance with contracts, vendor or contractor oversight, and safety standards.
 
Security
- Direct and supervise security personnel and related vendors.
 - Ensure all security personnel are trained and prepared to execute contingency operating plans.
 - Ensure consistent daily monitoring of both interior and exterior school grounds.
 - Coordinate security-related activities with local government agencies, e.g. law enforcement, fire department.
 - Maintain and strengthen communications with local agencies in support of operating safely and efficiently in Minneapolis (specifically Minneapolis Police Department and City of Minneapolis).
 
Transportation Fleet Oversight
- Ensure fleet vehicles are properly maintained for safe and efficient operation.
 - Manage employee driver request workflows while ensuring timely review and approval.
 - Ensure proper documentation is submitted and maintained for all fleet vehicles and fleet-related activities.
 - Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
 - Manage access to fleet vehicles to ensure proper security and storage.
 - Communicate with employees and departments regarding transportation needs and collaborate on vehicle lease, purchase and storage decisions.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision, coaching and performance review for Security Director, Maintenance Leads (2) and Custodial Services Supervisor.
 - Ensure administrative functions within teams function efficiently (including but not limited to; daily staff and PTO schedules, repair/support ticket completion, payroll processing and expense approvals)
 
Required Skills and Abilities
- 510 years of experience managing large or multi-facility operations
 - Strong organizational and leadership skills
 - Strategic thinker with ability to align people and programs toward common goals
 - Excellent communication and customer service skills
 - Proficiency with computer systems and technology management
 - Experience leading information technology initiatives desirable
 - Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols
 - Budget management and financial analysis experience
 - Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
 
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in facilities management, business administration, or related field; or 7+ years' experience in facilities management, building operations, or related field
 - Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required
 - Experience in schools or youth programming facilities strongly preferred
 - Facility Management or Property Administrator certification preferred
 
Essential Functions
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment
 - Specific vision abilities required include close vision for computer work
 - Occasional moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs)
