Job Description
Lucky Duck, the newest addition to the Delaware Waterfront opening February 2026, is looking to fill the General Manager position! Lucky Duck is a Riverside Tavern reimagined - focusing on great cocktails & Guinness pours and modern Americana fare with warm and comforting aesthetics and upbeat tunes. Lucky Duck will be the first bar on the waterfront open year-round.
We're looking for an experienced General Manager whose passionate about hospitality, and capable of creating and establishing a tight, detailed FOH Operation from scratch. This Manager is ideally a Swiss army knife, both in charge of the bar program and overall operations of the business. This person would report directly to ownership.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct Liaison to Business Owners across all channels of the business
- Overseeing responsibilities of bar program, hiring and training for FOH, and operational procedures of the business
- Create and set the Lucky Duck culture and discipline from inception
- FOH scheduling - ensuring shifts have proper coverage, fair distribution and employee relations
- Organizing staff communications and streamlining processes to improve the guest experience
- Payroll processing
- Monitoring finances, including sales and expenses
- Act as Manager on Duty / Operations champion during service, including running pre-shift meetings, Liaise with head chef and F&B manager for day-to-day updates
- General Maintenance coordinator (handyman/plumber/etc).
- POS & Reservation System owner & champion
- Daily Operations/program execution leader. Proactively establishing and communicating special event operating procedures
- Marketing and PR/Media liaison including coordinating programming at LG, point person for all media spotlights, etc.
- Handling customer complaints/conflicts/emergencies
Qualifications include:
- 5+ years of restaurant experience in a high volume, excellence driven environment
- Minimum 2 years in a management position within the bar & restaurant industry
- A sincere passion for the hospitality industry and all things food and drink
- Extensive experience hiring and training across all service areas
- Exceptional service skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication acumen
- The ability to successfully lead the FOH team
- Conflict resolution

- Food Safety Knowledge
- High organizational skills
- Must be comfortable with POS systems, Reservation Management, and Microsoft Office
- RAMP and ServSafe certification a plus
