Job Opportunity: General Manager - Upscale Restaurant

 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our full-service fine dining restaurant. This role is responsible for overseeing all facets of the business. The General Manager serves as the primary leader of the restaurant team, directly supervising all Managers to ensure exceptional execution across the board. 

 

Role Overview:

Business & Budget Oversight

  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor sales and profitability.
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and waste reduction.
  • Prepare financial reports for leadership review.

People & Culture

  • Hire, train, and manage front-of-house staff including servers, hosts, bartenders, and support roles.
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs.
  • Manage scheduling and labor costs effectively.

Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and excellence.
  • Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest experience.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food regulations.

Hospitality & Service Excellence

  • Address guest concerns and proactively enhance the customer experience.
  • Monitor satisfaction levels and implement feedback-driven improvements.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, alcohol service regulations, and food safety standards.
  • Maintain documentation for inspections and audits.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a General Manager in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software (e.g., Resy, Toast) preferred.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field.
  • Experience in upscale, fine dining, high-volume environments.
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe).
