General Superintendent – Commercial Mechanical Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished General Superintendent to lead large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects exceeding $30 million in total scope. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in MEP systems, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven record of managing teams to deliver complex projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee field operations for large commercial mechanical projects (HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process systems).

  • Manage multiple project superintendents and field teams across concurrent projects.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality control procedures, and productivity goals.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower forecasts, and equipment utilization plans.

  • Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, and subcontractors to drive execution and resolve field issues.

  • Participate in project planning, constructability reviews, and preconstruction activities.

  • Mentor field leaders, foremen, and tradespeople to support skill development and career progression.

  • Review and approve field change orders, timecards, and job cost reports.

  • Represent the company in owner, general contractor, and coordination meetings.

  • Ensure all mechanical scopes are completed to specification and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial MEP project supervision, including at least 5 years in a senior or general superintendent role.

  • Demonstrated success managing mechanical construction scopes exceeding $30 million.

  • Strong understanding of HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and process systems installation.

  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., P6, MS Project) and construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).

  • OSHA 30 and current safety certifications strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $115,000 – $180,000 annually (based on experience and project history).
