Job Summary

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the QEP Implementation Team as they provide educational development activities for faculty and assess QEP data. Graduate Assistants will communicate with QEP Team members and the larger UWG community via email, phone, chat, and in person. Graduate Assistants will also assist with other QEP projects and events, such as the annual QEP symposium, as needed.

  • 50% - Assist with development & implementation of educational development activities
  • 30% - Assist with assessing & presenting QEP data
  • 20% - Assist with QEP projects and events.
Required Qualifications

To be considered for a graduate assistantship at the University of West Georgia (UWG), students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Please note: Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
  • Hold a Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
  • Effective communication in writing, in person, and over the phone with proper professional etiquette at all times.
  • Outstanding listening skills, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
  • Work well individually and collaboratively to complete tasks in a timely and effective manner.
  • Constant willingness to take initiative to understand related programs, applications, and tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge of programs and applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate program in education, assessment, or related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe programs
  • Knowledge of experiential learning theories and best practices
  • Knowledge of NACE career-readiness competencies and strategies for integrating them into student learning experiences
  • Knowledge of best teaching practices for both in-person and online learning environments
  • Working knowledge of/familiarity with Qualtrics and/or other assessment tools

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • The QEP GA will perform above-average duties of a complex nature requiring prior knowledge, skill, or training.
  • Graduate Assistant positions may be physically demanding, and the work may be performed under difficult conditions. Students in these positions most often work with little to no supervision.
  • This position is for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2026. Rehire eligibility is determined at the end of the current semester and is contingent upon availability and department needs, budget, and job performance.
