Graduate Assistant for Small Business Development Center

Job Description:This posting will remain open to generate a pool of qualified student applicants for available positions during the semester.
Graduate assistants will work closely with and under the direction of the Training Coordinator to support SBDC training programs including administrative duties, marketing events, and managing attendee database. Additional major job functions will include research for clients, participate in client sessions and other client projects conducted by the SBDC, work on SBDC client services projects as needed.
Duties:
- Assist with the planning, marketing, preparation and implementation of SBDC training programs and community events related to economic development.
- Data Analysis and Reporting :
- Asses and track the needs of small business clients and report key data points related to the SBDC training program.
- Assist with SBDC client related work under the direction of SBDC advisors.
- Serve as a customer service representative of the SBDC as it relates to the client experience and engagement with SBDC Stakeholders
- Basic office duties:
- Answers telephones and provides general information;
- Greets and directs visitors;
- Schedules appointments;
- Prepares meeting materials;
- Utilize office equipment including a computer, copier/printer
- Regular admission into an ASU graduate degree or certification program is required.
- All graduate students who are awarded assistantships must be enrolled in Norris Vincent College of Business graduate coursework during the terms of their appointments.
- Knowledge of customer service and computer skills
- Skilled in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Canva design experience is a plus.
- Critical Thinking Skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations and able to withhold confidential information.
- Ability to work in high-stress environment.
- Able to handle multiple projects and work independently or in a group.
- Spanish speaking
Physical Demands:
Lifting 25 pounds or less on occasion, sitting and standing
Salary:$14.50
