Job Description

The Peel Compton Foundation is now hiring for a full time Grounds Crew person to join the team at Compton Gardens.  This is a great opportunity to work for an amazing organization with a meaningful mission.

What youll be doing
  • All gardening and grounds-keeping duties including planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, turf management, maintaining drives and walkways, painting, and litter pickup.
  • Planting and Gardening
  • Light landscaping
  • Keeping the grounds beautiful for the visitors.
  • Basic maintenance work.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the following tools and equipment.
  • Basic hand tools
  • Irrigation Systems 
  • Shovels
  • Rakes
  • Lawncare equipment
  • Trimmers / blowers
Requirements:
  • Experience in lawncare
  • Must be a team player
  • Enjoy working outside 
Needed physical skills

Ability to climb ladders, stand for many hours during the daytime, work in all-types of weather such as wet, cold, hot, humid, and sunny conditions, perform manual labor including lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.

The Peel Compton Foundation owns and operates the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens & Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park. The uniting mission for these diverse properties is to connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation. The Natural Resources Technicians are responsible for keeping the properties ready for all the visitors.
