Groundskeeper (Full-Time)
New River Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one-hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia with an instructional site in Christiansburg. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs. Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body.

New River Community College is seeking a dedicated and hardworking groundskeeper to help maintain the beauty and functionality of our vibrant campus. As a key member of our facilities team, the successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Duties:
- Maintain lawns, gardens, walkways, and other outdoor campus areas
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Perform seasonal tasks, including leaf removal and snow/ice clearing
- Assist with campus event setup and takedown as needed
- Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report maintenance issues
- Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Follow all safety procedures and campus policies
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds keeping, or similar field
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with grounds maintenance tools and equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform manual labor
