Job Description

TCI has an immediate need for a Guidewire Billing Center Application Programmer in Louisville, KY. This is not a C2C opportunity. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card). SUMMARY The Guidewire Billing Center Application Programmer will join a team supporting multiple lines of business for analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications and/or systems software. RESPONSIBILITIES Works with both business and other IT members to analyze, design, and develop application requirements and system specifications. From analysis and general specifications, codes new programs, modifies existing programs, tests, and documents programs following published standards. Participates in development or modification of conceptual, logical, and physical design architectural artifacts (documents, models, etc.). Evaluates and recommends vendor application and development software. Participates in and may prepare project plans and time estimates. Researches, resolves, and documents incident reports. Provides on-call support to production systems during off hours. Tests all programs thoroughly following standard guidelines. Performs production reviews. Keeps informed on technology and insurance industry trends and developments. May direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in a related computer science field is required. Minimum of 3 years programming experience including 2 years of experience with Guidewire. Intermediate understanding of Systems Analysis and Design is preferred. Intermediate understanding of Core Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and SQL strongly preferred. Other related object-oriented development experience may be substituted. Intermediate understanding of JEE, Spring frameworks, or similar environment/frameworks preferred. Intermediate understanding of JDBC and Hibernate preferred. Familiar with IBM WebSphere Application Server or similar environment preferred. Familiar with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Angular, React, or Vue.js preferred. Familiar with Eclipse IDE preferred. Intermediate understanding of web services (SOAP and REST) preferred. Familiar with XML and JSON preferred. Familiarity with Agile project methodology preferred. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and multi-task to meet deadlines. Above average communication skills – verbal, written, and listening. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card). Must have ability to work hybrid schedule (3 days per week on-site).
