Job Description

The Head, Campus Printing Services position will oversee the daily operations of the Printing Services Office; assign projects and tasks to the Printing Services team; track, order, and inventory printing and publications supplies; manage and supervise all owned and leased printing equipment; and serve as the lead point person for incoming print orders, both internal and external.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Printing Services Office.
• Assign projects and tasks to the Printing Services team.
• Oversee the operation of production equipment, copiers, and printers.
• Oversee and operate postal equipment, office computers, and scanners for graphic design.
• Manage and track inventory; reorder print supplies as needed.
• Responsible for paper bids and print-job bids and inventory year-end reports.
• Oversee the maintenance and minor repairs of printing equipment.
• Comply with all policies of the University.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope and tasks based on need.
• Actively work toward building cooperative and collaborative relationships with peers, and internal faculty and staff, and external vendors and customers.
• Maintain “open door” to internal and external customers.
• Identify opportunities for improvements to work practices and offer viable solutions for implementation.
• Proactively engage in problem solving related to tasks in this position with internal and external constituents.
• Routinely practice self-monitoring by assessing work to make improvements or take corrective action to improve performance.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma, Associate degree preferred.
• Three to five years of work experience in printing and graphic design.
• Proven management skills.
• Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
• Advanced knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional), Microsoft Office, and similar computer programs.
• Experience working with print production machinery and finishing tools.

• Ability to manage work schedule and maintain availability in accommodation of external customers; campus hours may not necessarily align with Printing Services hours throughout the calendar year.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Occasionally ascends and/or descends ladder
· 75% of time spent sitting and/or standing
· May occasionally need to spend time in low postures such as crouching or kneeling
· Occasionally tasked with moving from one worksite to another
· Must be able to occasionally adjust or move objects up to 25 pounds in all directions; seldomly tasked with moving objects up to 50 pounds
· Frequently requires communication with others to exchange information
· Frequently tasked with repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, and/or fingers
· Frequently uses machinery and/or power tools such as a drill press, cutting machine, and laminator
· Occasionally operates motor vehicle
· Frequently uses near vision for tasks involving computers, reading small print, etc. Frequently uses far vision for the ability to see a person or object
· Occasionally exposed to noise environments when using machinery
Salary Schedule
Salary Band: P320
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Located in historic Athens, Alabama, Athens State University offers junior and senior-level coursework to community college graduates and transfer students holding sufficient credits from other institutions.
