Health Informatics Administrator (EMR) at Atlas Search

Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a full-time EMR Administrator to join their team! This Administrator will serve as a primary point of contact for agency-wide utilization of the Electronic Medical Record. The EMR Administrator will be responsible for ensuring optimal workflow, usage of the electronic health record, and continuous improvement for patient care and clinic operations. This admin will be closely involved in designing planning, and implementing new product features and functionality of EMR applications.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the EMR system, including user account creation, access control, and security permissions.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating to vendors or technical support as needed.
  • Customize EMR templates, forms, and workflows to meet clinical and administrative needs.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and staff to identify process improvements and implement system enhancements.
  • Maintain dictionaries, lists, and data tables within the EMR.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring efficient and effective use of the EMR system.
  • Develop training materials, user guides, and documentation for staff education.
  • Ensure accurate data capture, storage, and retrieval within the EMR.
  • Generate and analyze reports to support clinical operations, quality improvement, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support data migration and integration projects with other healthcare systems and software.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other relevant data protection regulations.
  • Monitor system access and audit logs to ensure data security and privacy.
  • Collaborate with compliance and IT security teams on risk assessments and policy enforcement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and the EMR vendor.
  • Participate in or lead EMR upgrade, implementation, and integration projects.
  • Manage timelines, documentation, and communication for EMR-related initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of EMR system required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred.
