We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Systems Developer (Contractor) to support the design, development, and integration of healthcare IT systems for Medi-Cal/Medicaid programs in Nevada. This contract role is ideal for developers experienced in healthcare applications, claims processing, and interoperability standards who can hit the ground running to deliver impactful solutions on tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and support applications, APIs, and integrations between EHR, claims systems, Medicaid portals, and third-party applications.

  • Automate workflows for eligibility verification, billing, and claims adjudication.

  • Collaborate with program managers, analysts, and compliance teams to gather requirements and translate into scalable technical solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Nevada Medicaid data standards.

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize downtime.

  • Deliver clean, well-documented code and participate in system testing and validation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 3–5 years of professional software development or healthcare IT experience.

  • Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, or similar languages.

  • Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, X12, API development, and SQL databases.

  • Experience integrating with EHR systems, Medicaid/Medicare claims systems, or healthcare payment platforms.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and systems integration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Experience in contract or consulting environments preferred.

Contract Details

  • Duration: 6–12 months with possible extension.

  • Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE).

  • Location: Nevada-based candidates preferred, but open to remote developers with Medicaid experience.
