Job Title: Maintenance Trainer
The Opportunity:
Barminco Mining Services has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Trainer to join our team at a project location 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will oversee and train a local workforce, attend breakdowns and first response problem solving in the field & underground along with scheduled maintenance.
Location: 65 Miles outside of Elko, Nevada
Shift: 7-days on / 7-days off rotation
Accommodation: Camp and meals provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Department performance including safety, quality, and equipment performance against Barminco standards.
- Train and assist local workforce in maintenance processes to support high speed development and ground support regimes.
- Ensure all Barminco equipment isolation protocols are in place and implemented correctly.
- Diagnostic fault finding and breakdown response on mechanical and electrical systems specific to Barminco machinery, including, Sandvik, Normet, Volvo.
- Ensure a safe workplace by utilizing and training local workforce the Barminco safety systems including, Maintenance task plans, SWIC’s, JSA’s, Checkmate Systems.
- Diagnose faults and recommend repairs / improvements, ensure parts lists are correlated and work orders are raised in the Barminco CMMS. (Computer Maintenance Management System)
- Perform all maintenance inline with OEM and Barminco standards, procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure maintenance data and reporting on a daily basis is accurate.
- Be proactive in all preventative maintenance procedures to ensure quality repairs are maintained as per Barminco’s critical risk standards.
- Complete machinery servicing and repairs breakdowns where possible in the surface workshop.
- Attend to breakdowns of equipment underground if necessary.
- Breakdown repairs include hydraulic hoses, electrical faults, punctured tyres, broken bolts, damaged equipment.
- Servicing and maintenance of filters, changes oil, change out differential, engines.
- Component change out can include engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps and cylinders, buckets and bucket teeth.
- Test driving of heavy machines.
- Completion of service logs and daily maintenance records.
- Utilise Integrated Tool (I.T.) Carrier to provide mechanical lifting assistance.
- Change Earthmoving and light vehicle tyre and wheel assemblies.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of at least 5 years Underground Mining Experience, specifically within the high-speed, high production environment
- Experience working on earthmoving machinery. Experience working on underground mobile plant including makes such as CAT and Sandvik (Highly Desired)
- Ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment
- Commitment to safety
- MSHA Certification of Training
- C Class Drivers License
- Mechanical Trade Certificate
Work Conditions:
- Ability to do shift camp work on a rotational basis (dayshift/nightshift), typically the rotations are 7 days on site (minimum 12-hour days), followed by 7 days off – working statutory holidays as they fall within the rotation
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to communicate, sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, push/pull, manipulate objects and work in awkward positions
- Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are required
- Extreme weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high
