IT Support Specialist (Contract) Location: Reston, VA Pay Rate: $30–$40 per hour Duration: August 12, 2025 – July 12, 2026 Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required; must pass background and drug screening Project Overview We’re seeking an IT Support Specialist to join a project focused on improving technology operations and end-user support. The role involves implementing updates to IT systems, configuring and installing hardware and software, coordinating automation tasks, and supporting project closeout activities. You’ll perform a wide range of IT and communications work, planning and prioritizing your tasks within set timelines. Key Responsibilities Help Desk Operations Provide 24/7 first-line IT support to internal users. Respond to service requests and incidents, troubleshoot issues, and document resolutions. Contribute to process improvements and assist in the rollout of new technologies. Support global IT infrastructure, applications, and collaboration services. IT Service Management Assist in managing IT service delivery using industry-standard best practices. Support process development, performance analysis, and reporting. Help ensure efficiency and adherence to IT policies and procedures. Local Infrastructure / Deskside Support Deploy and maintain end-user hardware and IT services. Diagnose and resolve local infrastructure, hardware, and software issues. Troubleshoot network, peripherals, and video conferencing equipment. Participate in the rollout of new systems, tools, and security updates. Mobility & Wireless Support Configure and support mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, and broadband devices. Resolve user issues related to mobility and wireless connectivity. Manage mobile assets and inventory. Assist in the deployment of new mobility solutions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or 5–6 years of relevant work experience. 1–2 years of IT support or helpdesk experience preferred. Solid understanding of desktop support, network connectivity, and mobility management. Strong communication and customer service skills. Familiarity with project management tools and IT service management processes. U.S. Citizenship required. Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening. Work Schedule Full-time, on-site in Reston, VA. Some off-hours or weekend support may be required.
