Hamlin House is a Florida-inspired social and racquet club redefining hospitality in Orlando’s SoDo neighborhood. JF Restaurants is seeking passionate and experienced Hosts to join our esteemed team at Hamlin House.

About the Role:

The Host is the first and last point of contact with the guest and is responsible for greeting, seating and saying goodbye to all guests as well as maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. 

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming and seating guests accurately and professionally.
• Coordinating effective flow of guests and staff for a variety of events and high-volume services.
• Provide engaged, friendly, and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling.
• Ensure clear communication with guests always making genuine connections.
• Communicating effectively with management and dining room teams on guest updates, special occasions, allergies, table status, VIPs, etc.
• Estimating wait times for guests and maintaining the guest wait list.
• Orchestrate strategic seating plans.
• Understand tables configuration and optimization.
• Managing coat check in a clean and organized fashion.
• Identify guests in relation to their needs, regularity, and time of dining, food and drink choice, seat preference etc.
• Identify all regulars and VIP guests.
• Review all names in reservations and ensure special occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc.) are acknowledged and the allergies are flagged.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year experience working as a Host in a high-volume restaurant
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and ability to multi-task and work under pressure while still being detail oriented and personable
• Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff
• Good organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail
• English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required
• Working knowledge of Resy or OpenTable
• Must have basic skills and be capable of operating department specific software and applications
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, variable schedules per the needs of the business
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time without sitting
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
