Departmental Objective:The mission of the Ferguson Center for the Arts is to culturally engage the community by providing easy access to the finest artists in the world.
Purpose of the Position:This position will support the Ferguson Center by providing front of house customer service for events held in the facility and will support the Ferguson Center by being responsible for the smooth operations of the lobby and audience seating area during events held at the facility. House Managers are to provide and enforce excellent customer service by creating a welcoming environment, overseeing all patron and staff safety and well-being from arrival through departure post-event. Additionally, this position will assist the Patron Services Manager in the supervision of student and volunteer staff and also support to the Ticket Office as needed.

Education Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
- Valid Driver’s license.
Experience Required:
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Experience as a team leader
- Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software
Education Preferred:
- Some college coursework in the fine and performing arts
Experience Preferred:
- Experience working front of house at a performing arts center or other venue
- Experience and/or training in event management
- Experience at a university or college environment

Salary Information:Starting at $15.71, Commensurate with Education and Experience
Conditions of Employment:- This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period
- Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program
