Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a-5p, 40 hours per week
Pay: $16.96 per hour and up, depending on experience and qualifications
Location: Coldwater Rd, Fort Wayne, IN
Summary: The Human Resources Assistant works closely with the HR team to make sure personnel information is submitted accurately and efficiently in HRIS software systems and paper files. The HR Assistant helps answer general HR questions to staff in a timely and welcoming manner. Works collaboratively with the HR team and ensures confidentiality and follows best practices
Duties and Responsibilities:- Backs up coverage for front desk receptionist
- Processes new hire and change paperwork.
- Assists new hire candidates with onboarding paperwork.
- Maintains employee files.
- E-files HR paperwork.
- Assists HR Generalists as needed.
- Answers staff questions and serves as an HR contact for the department.
- Maintains internal reports and spreadsheets for the HR department.
- Completes additional HR projects as assigned and fills in for other HR team members in times of absence and as needed.
- Adheres to Easter Seals Arc Human Resources Policies and performs other duties assigned.
- Assists the Human Resources Director as needed.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Two years of college level classes preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software including word, excel, and outlook required.
- Ability to adhere to all applicable regulations such as the EEOC, Affirmative Action, HIPAA, local, state, and federal laws.
- Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and other required screenings.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working independently.
- Is flexible and able to handle a multitude of duties while under pressure.
- Ability to organize and maintain files and records with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively in order to:
- Complete required forms and reports of services provided.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate with an individual in the individual’s mode of communication.
- Ability to perform light lifting when needed.
- Ability to drive to other company locations outside of Fort Wayne.
- Possession of valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and proof of auto insurance required.
