Job Description
Senior IT HR Manager Full-time Pittsburgh, PA You will lead, mentor, and grow a global technical team, managing HR system implementations and operations that directly impact payroll, timekeeping, compliance, and other core HR functions. This includes overseeing HR initiatives resulting from M&A activities and compliance requirements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of solutions that support strategic HR goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a global HR IT team, including vendor and contingent staff. Drive HR system design, implementation, and enhancement aligned with product strategy. Oversee project scope, budget, and timeline to prevent scope creep and ensure timely delivery. Develop and maintain the HR Product Strategy and Roadmap, reviewed bi-annually with leadership. Partner with HR and IT stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and manage integrations across systems. Facilitate agile/scrum operating rhythms and rituals for HR IT teams. Prepare and present project updates, charters, RACI charts, and milestone tracking. Support annual HR cycles: goal setting, performance reviews, engagement, and hiring. Manage HR IT budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Act as a change agent, promoting process optimization and system adoption. Perform other duties as assigned to support HR technology success. Required Qualifications: Minimum 8 years of experience in Information Technology supporting HR systems and data. Hands-on experience with at least three Workday modules (e.g., Payroll, Timekeeping, Absence, Talent/Performance, T&E, Benefits/Comp, Security, HCM). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related IT/HR Systems discipline. Flexibility to work non-standard hours during major implementations or incident support. Willingness to travel domestically/internationally (up to 20%). Preferred Qualifications: Workday certification(s) on core modules. HRIS, Payroll, or Compliance certifications. PMP or Agile Scrum certification(s); experience leading Scrum of Scrums. Experience with Smart Recruiters, UKG, and ADP Payroll, including EU ADP implementations. Strong understanding of industry-standard HR practices and workflows. Proven leadership in coaching, mentoring, and team development. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Highly self-motivated, inclusive, and collaborative approach. Typical Day Includes: Managing and developing team performance and culture. Monitoring HR IT project milestones and facilitating stakeholder reviews. Ensuring clean execution of end-to-end HR implementation projects. Collaborating with Product Owners and SMEs to define feature priorities and roadmaps. Supporting strategic planning and continuous improvement across HR systems. Leading agile ceremonies and maintaining documentation of HR system governance. Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, and computer use. Occasional movement or lifting of up to 20 lbs. Regular participation in virtual and in-person meetings. Work Environment: Hybrid work model – combination of remote and on-site. Standard office environment with exposure to electronic equipment. When visiting manufacturing sites, must follow PPE and safety requirements (e.g., steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
