This Employment Services Professional position is located in the Triangle of North Carolina. Our main offices are located at 720 Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd in Chapel Hill, though most of our work is performed in the community. We provide employment related services to roughly 500 individuals on the autism spectrum in competitive employment that are spread all over the Triangle and surrounding communities. The candidate selected for this position will work with the autism population, employers, families, and the rest of our dedicated team to help people realize their career goals. Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the management of activities in the Triangle Employment Services office. This office covers approximately 10 counties in the state of NC and has a staff of between 10-15 people at any given time. The position oversees the activities of each of the staff members in the office as the program goes about its day-to-day operations. Day to day operations include but are not exclusively limited to: case coordination of 200+ clients with autism, monitoring and evaluating progress on individual and agency goals, oversight of billing and authorization for those services through a multitude of state agencies and managed care organizations (LME/MCO), staff coordination of service delivery, community interaction and training, consultation with funders, community members, employers, individuals and their caregivers.

This position is not center based, and all employment services are delivered in the community at partnering businesses. We are required to travel great distances, sometimes at a moment’s notice. Individuals in this position are required to work alone in the community providing supports to autistic adults. The must work to maintain and develop close relationships/collaboration with the other support networks. This includes but is not limited to, additional family members, employers, other provider agencies, medical staff, residential providers, and local mental health agencies and other providers of funding for the services provided by TEACCH Employment Services. As a result, strong communication skills are required to maintain positive relationships with the community at large.

As the first contact for staff, the position is on call 24/7, for clinical emergencies. In their clinical emergency role, they must be able to navigate various systems that support the individual with autism in crisis, from police department to social services, to mental health providers, medical providers, and various state and local Department of Health and Human Services offices.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related Human Services discipline and five years of experience related to the area of assignment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
