Industrial Electrician

Job Description

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing equipment, performing routine maintenance, and conducting electrical repairs throughout the facility. You will troubleshoot industrial controls, three-phase motor circuits, and basic electrical systems. Your role will involve installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing all electrical distribution systems and associated equipment. You will also wire, hook up disconnect switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressors, and transformers. Using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals, you will complete assigned projects and assist with the installation of new electrical equipment or modification of existing equipment. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for electrical system improvements and communicate these to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot industrial controls, three-phase motor circuits, and basic electrical systems.
  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.
  • Wire and hook up disconnects, switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressors, and transformers.
  • Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete projects.
  • Assist with the installation of new electrical equipment or modification of existing equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for electrical system improvements and communicate them to a supervisor or lead staff.
  • Identify and act upon incidents and safety risks, consistently practicing and enforcing safe work habits.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months industrial electrical experience, including PLC, VFD, Analog, and advanced electrical controls.
  • Proficiency in utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure and industrial blueprints.
  • Basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components.
  • Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and calculating percentages.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with plant employees and third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or other powered equipment or machinery.
  • Commitment to consistently practicing and enforcing safe working habits.
  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capability to pass required physical tests, including lifting requirements.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for the entire 8-hour shift.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements as designated by company policy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and motors.
  • Experience with wiring and manufacturing.

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean with varying temperatures and a distinct smell. The schedule for all night shift maintenance is 6 PM to 6 AM, on a 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on rotation. Employees must be comfortable working in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit and adhere to safety standards and PPE requirements.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fremont, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $89440.00/yr.
