Role Summary
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing and industrial environments.
This role requires expertise in industrial controls, low-to-medium voltage systems, and the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes. Collaboration with engineers and other trades is key to ensuring safe and efficient operations.
️ This position is based in the Charlotte, NC area, with occasional travel to Raleigh and surrounding project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Install wiring, conduit, and control panels per blueprints and supervisor direction
- Set up, troubleshoot, and repair motor controls, transformers, and switchgear
- Install and integrate PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and actuators into automated systems
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
- Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance
- Inspect electrical installations for quality and code compliance
- Document work performed and maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Collaborate with other trades and engineering teams on site
Qualifications
✅ 3+ years of industrial electrical experience (construction or project-based)
✅ NC Apprentice Electrician certification required (NCCER)
✅ NC Electrician License preferred
✅ PLC/automation experience is a plus
✅ Valid North Carolina driver’s license required
✅ Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
✅ Familiarity with OSHA 1910.147, NEC 2023, and safety best practices
✅ Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
✅ Experience with Procore a plus
