A day in this roleYou’ll begin on the shop floor, reviewing electrical schematics and laying out wiring for industrial machinery and control panels. Before lunch, you may be bending EMT/IMC/RMC and routing conduit to code. In the afternoon, you’ll collaborate with assembly and engineering, verify panel quality, and solve a tricky troubleshooting challenge on a new machine. On some weeks, you’ll travel within the U.S. (up to 25%) to commission systems, diagnose issues on both new and legacy equipment, and support on-site installs — sometimes at height using ladders, scissor lifts, or articulating lifts. Throughout, safety and craftsmanship guide every decision.
What you will do- Champion a safe work environment for yourself and teammates.
 - Model and reinforce BCT’s culture and core values.
 - Lay out and install electrical circuits in compliance with applicable codes.
 - Use hand and power tools correctly and efficiently.
 - Interpret electrical schematics to wire machines and control panels accurately.
 - Partner closely with assembly and engineering to deliver production-ready systems.
 - Build high-quality panels with rigorous attention to detail.
 - Troubleshoot electrical problems both in-house and at customer sites (new and used equipment).
 - Handle moderate lifts; work at heights with ladders, scissor, and articulating lifts.
 - Manage multiple priorities with strong organization and follow-through.
 - Travel within the U.S. up to 25%.
 
- Clear, professional communication and strong teamwork.
 - Proven skill with common hand and power tools.
 - Valid driver’s license.
 - Solid wiring and conduit know-how with strong troubleshooting capability.
 - Expertise in conduit bending: EMT, IMC, and RMC.
 - Ability to read electrical machine drawings and schematics.
 - Comfort working at customer facilities that may be hot, cold, or dirty during installs/wiring.
 - Basic computer literacy.
 
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license; or
 - Five to seven years of related experience; or
 - Ten to twelve years of progressively responsible related experience; or
 - A comparable blend of education and experience.
 - Experience with PLCs, control systems, and root cause analysis preferred (not required).
 
- Equipment and mechanical troubleshooting
 - Conduit pulling and bending
 - Tape measure proficiency and shop math
 - Rigid Metal Conduit (RMT) and Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT)
 - Industrial electrical work in a manufacturing environment
