ResponsibilitiesAt The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP), The Information Assistant is more than just a job; it's an opportunity. In addition to working directly with the Director of Communications, The Information Assistant gains life experience that goes far beyond completing projects in a friendly environment.
- Writing, editing news, and feature stories.
 - Coordinating social media activities and website updates.
 - Website updates, photography at events, and organizing content.
 - Digital archives, and other marketing and administrative tasks as needed.
 
- High school diploma or equivalent.
 - Effectively communicate in writing with attention to detail.
 - Prioritize and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a high quality of work.
 - Expected to be accountable for the details given and updating our project management systems (Microsoft Planner Boards, Internal Excel files, Marketing Calendar, and Spotlight Tracker).
 - Create and schedule posts, engage with our followers, run monthly reports, and edit content on our website.
 - Experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
 
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of news writing and AP Style.
 - Experience with Canva and Adobe products.
 - Strong visual portfolio.
 - Photography skills.
 - Social Media and Web Management Skills.
 
The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP) seeks a Information Assistant & Writer with excellent writing and editing skills to serve as a member of the College's Communications Team representing two of our units, Economics and Sociology, and enhancing overall communications from to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. This position reports to the Director of Communications and works with leadership and key faculty from departments to develop and publish news stories, make website updates related to communications tasks, coordinate social media posts and engagement, promote events and opportunities at FSU and beyond, and produce visual content by providing graphic design and photography services at events and in the studio.
