Job Summary
This is a full-time, ten-month, term-contract faculty appointment in the Electrical Technology program within the Skilled Trades Division. The position will provide instruction in competencies for Electrical Technology classes including but not limited to Electrical Construction, Electric Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Circuits, and/or National Electric Code. Instruction includes providing an understanding of electrical devices and various electrical circuits, applying the electric code to all types of installations, and teaching of how various circuits and systems function. Demonstrate current knowledge required by curriculum for the electrical industry including construction, maintenance, and industrial applications.
Job Duties:
- The evaluation and supervision of students
- Teach in-person and online instruction related to Electrical Technology
- Maintain at least five office hours per w
- Advise current and prospective students for program and career-related advising
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities
- Provide input regarding curriculum development and enhancement
- Compete all required College and KCTCS mandatory training in addition to attending other professional development activities relevant to personal interest
- Working collaboratively with faculty and staff
- Demonstrate current knowledge required by curriculum for the electrical industry including construction, maintenance, and industrial applications.
- Develop and maintain a working relationship with local industry
- Enforce high expectations related to professional behavior (including punctuality, respect for leadership, teamwork, and written/verbal communication skills)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates or higher degree in any field AND 2 years work experience in electric technology related position
- Current Electrician license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience
