Instructor in Plastic Surgery

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of surgery (one or more surgical specialties). Applicants must have an M.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include initiating and building an integrated clinical and discovery-based research program to treat and investigate problems in peripheral nerve biology. Also included will be teaching of medical students, research-rotation residents and lab personnel regarding laboratory policy and procedures.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop an individual training experience in research skills and teaching, while developing a career in an academic setting.
The successful candidate will be appointed in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation's oldest pediatric hospital. Interested individuals should include with their application a CV, cover letter, 5-page research plan and three letters of reference.
