Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a private four-year liberal arts college located in Atlanta, GA. The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education.

Position Description:

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applicants for a part-time instructor position. The candidate could teach one, two, or three anthropology courses in the Spring 2026. Geographic and topical areas of specialization are open, but people with expertise in food studies and/or medical anthropology are preferred. Possible courses include Introduction to Anthropology, Ethnographic Methods, Anthropological Theory, Medical Anthropology, or electives in the candidate’s area of specialization.
