Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Instrument Fitter Journeyman to support the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems in industrial and construction environments. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of process control systems and tubing installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and route instrument tubing, conduit, and wiring for control systems and field instrumentation.
- Fabricate and install union banks, tubing trays, and capillary tubing systems.
- Perform pipe stress tests, pressure testing, and ensure proper slope for differential pressure transmitters.
- Mount and connect instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, thermocouples, and control valves.
- Use hand and power tools to bend, thread, and secure tubing—both manually and with machines.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate installation.
- Assist with loop checks, instrument calibration, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Instrument Fitter certification or equivalent field experience.
- Proficient in working with stainless steel and copper tubing, including capillary systems.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation tools, including tube benders, threaders, and calibration devices.
- Familiarity with ISA standards, site-specific procedures, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities.
