Role Overview
We are seeking a Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist to join our Prior Authorization team and deliver exceptional service to patients and partners. This is a full-time, onsite role in Robinson Township, Pittsburgh.
Responsibilities
- Initiate new prior authorization requests with providers.
- Identify and complete correct prior authorization forms for insurance providers.
- Coordinate with prescribers and medical offices to ensure accurate information.
- Follow up on prior authorization status and communicate updates to patients and providers.
- Handle appeals and respond to internal inquiries related to prior authorizations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Customer service or inbound call center experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with sound judgment and technical skills.
- Passion for patient care and ability to work collaboratively.
- Flexible to work shifts between 8 AM – 8 PM.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year experience with prior authorizations or insurance verification in a pharmacy.
- Knowledge of pharmacy benefits and claims.
Schedule & Location
- 40 hours/week (rotational shifts: 9 AM–5 PM, 10 AM–6 PM, occasional 12 PM–8 PM).
- Rotational Saturday shift: 9 AM–5 PM.
- 100% onsite in Robinson Township, Pittsburgh, PA.
