INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their Intellectual Property group in Tampa. The ideal candidate will have experience in patent and trademark prosecution, as well as IP transactions.
Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Bar Admission in Florida.
- 2–5 years of substantive experience in patent and trademark prosecution and IP transactions.
- USPTO registration strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and practical judgment are required.
- Experienced in negotiating and drafting intellectual property transactions and software agreements is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day prosecution dockets and prepare USPTO filings.
- Conduct patent and trademark searches, prepare clearance opinions/advice, and respond to office actions responses.
- Negotiate and draft IP transaction and software agreements.
- Conduct IP due diligence for M&A transactions and prepare related documentation.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and collaborate with other lawyers within the firm.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive compensation: includes an annual salary range of $150,000-$170,000, determined by experience and market factors, alongside eligibility for profit-sharing and a discretionary bonus.
