Additional Job Description: Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Internal Medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and will take an active role in the new internal medicine residency program. This position is on the academic outpatient internal medicine service in Berkeley or Jefferson County. A growing academic Internal Medicine section that affords the faculty member teaching opportunities with internal medicine residents and medical students in an outpatient clinical setting.? Internal Medicine faculty will also participate in didactic conferences and have access to scholarly and research opportunities. The primary hospital is Berkeley Medical Center, a 200-bed teaching hospital in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, with a 19 bed ICU, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology, and the full range of medical and surgical consultative services. There are active Neurosurgical, Cardiovascular, and Oncology programs via our Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute, Heart and Vascular Institute, and Cancer Institute, respectively. ?Additional tertiary care support is provided by a strong collaborative relationship with Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed an Internal Medicine residency program and be board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
