DEPARTMENT: Financial Advisory Group

CLASSIFICAITON: Nonexempt

REPORTS TO: VP, Investment Portfolio Manager

SUPERVISES: No supervisory responsibility

JOB SUMMARY: This is a paid position, competitive rate, and flexible internship schedule. Works closely with Financial Advisory Group to contribute to the bank's investment strategy and client portfolio analysis, gaining hands on experience in financial research, market trends, and data-driven decision-making.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts regular analyses of changing conditions in the securities markets. Prepares reports on significant changes, potential problems, and recommended solutions to the Portfolio Manager.
  • Performs monthly portfolio review and follow-up process to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, procedures as well as the Investment Policy Statement of each account.
  • Monitor and evaluate portfolios and their underlying securities to a granular level to be able to make suggests to the Investment Officer.
  • Proposes and implements continuous improvement strategies to further the department.
  • Assist with the preparation and update of information for investment meetings.
  • Use accounting system, including being able to retrieve data, create reports, and understand the requirements of the system for adding or removing assets.
  • Analyzes customer accounts and portfolios. Recommends investment strategies as necessary.
  • Reports on related industry products, pricing, and improvement strategies.
  • Assist with Financial Planning data entry and preparation of reports.
  • Assist with various administrative, filing, record keeping, and organizational functions as needed to aid in ensuring compliance and accuracy with all objectives and regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university majoring in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Fluency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Programs.
