About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. This position focuses on installation, service, and maintenance of electrical systems—primarily in residential and light commercial settings—with an emphasis on standby and backup power systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, panels, conduit, switches, and controls.
• Perform generator installations, transfers, and system integrations.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently and provide accurate diagnostic solutions.
• Ensure all electrical work meets current NEC and local building code requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
• Collaborate with team members, apprentices, and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding work performed, recommendations, and safety precautions.
• Maintain clean, organized work vehicles and adhere to company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician License (required).
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with generator systems (Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.) preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely in a variety of environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience installing automatic transfer switches (ATS) and backup generators.
• Familiarity with residential and light commercial power systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting wiring diagrams.
• Customer-service mindset with excellent communication skills.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification is a plus.
