POSITION: KITCHEN ATTENDANT

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Kitchen Attendant to join our team at Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere located in Dallas, Texas. The Kitchen Attendant is responsible for the overall cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and culinary supplies. The Kitchen Attendant ensures sanitation standards are achieved and kitchen inventory and deliveries are efficiently organized and stored.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time, hourly position with a salary of $14.00+ per hour. In addition, Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere offers competitive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, generous PTO and holiday vacation time, and 401K.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:

  • Wash and sanitize pots, dishes, utensils, carts, etc. either by mechanical washing or handwashing.
  • Stock and rotate food and non-food supplies using appropriate storing techniques.
  • Maintain proper chemical amounts and temperatures for the dish machine and sinks.
  • Conduct close procedures of sweeping and mopping floors, trash removal, ensure all kitchen equipment is turned off and storage areas are locked.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • No educational requirement. Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • No experience necessary. A willingness to learn.
  • Food Handler certification obtained within 60 days of hire as required by state guidelines if state certification program exists.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledgeable of proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques. Ability to read chemical labels, monitor temperature and unsafe equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow policy and procedures of infection control, safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors, and team members.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require bending, stooping, reaching, balancing, walking, standing and frequent repetitive motion. This position often involves medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to perform activities with close visual acuity such as operation of machines. The functions of this position are subject to extreme heat with temperatures typically above 100 degrees for periods of more than 1 hour at a time, and may routinely be exposed to noise, work in close quarters and cleaning chemicals.

INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. This position requires the ability to deal with and find resolution to problems and maintain a productive working relationship with team members and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others. It also requires adaptability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise.

OSHA Category Classification:

Category III: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.

The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids.
