Your Role as a Flavor Master:
You will be a key player in our kitchen operation, assisting our leads in preparing our signature dishes. This is not a "chef" role that requires formal certification; it's a hands-on position requiring speed, precision, and a commitment to maintaining our high culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Authentic Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items (curries, tandoori items, biryanis, starters) following HOCCO's standardized recipes and traditional techniques.
  • Tandoor Operation: Assist with operating the tandoor oven, ensuring breads and meats are cooked correctly (experience preferred, but training is available for the right candidate).
  • Quality & Consistency: Ensure every dish meets our strict quality, temperature, and presentation standards.
  • Kitchen Flow: Collaborate with the team to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced environment and keep the food flowing efficiently.
  • Hygiene First: Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of your workstation, equipment, and storage areas, adhering strictly to food safety regulations.
  • Stock Management: Assist with inventory checks, unloading deliveries, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of all ingredients.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, specifically with Indian cuisine and Tandoor, is a plus
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to take direction.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and thrive under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in the food & restaurant industry
  • 16 years or older
  • At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
  • Restaurant back of house skills: general food prep
  • Restaurant back of house skills: safe food handling
  • Restaurant back of house skills: fry station
  • Restaurant back of house skills: dishwashing
  • Restaurant front of house skills: serving in fast casual
  • Restaurant front of house skills: point of sale (POS) operation
  • Restaurant front of house skills: front counter
  • Able to stand for duration of shift
  • Able to comfortably lift 20 lbs
  • Available to work: holidays
  • Available to work: weekends
  • Available to work: weekdays
  • Willing to travel locally
