Lab Project Manager (W2 Only) at Sovereign Technologies

Position: Lab Project Manager Location: Onsite – Waukesha, WI (occasional travel to Whitewater, Jefferson & Oshkosh) Duration: Contract to Hire Job Summary: Looking for an experienced Lab Project Manager to oversee engineering lab operations and facility projects. This role involves managing construction and upgrades of lab spaces, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and supporting labs focused on power generation, medium voltage, and data acquisition systems. Responsibilities: Plan and manage projects for new and existing lab facilities Coordinate with facilities, EHS, and engineering teams Specify requirements for lab tools, instruments, and systems Oversee contractors, budgets, and timelines Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards Lead continuous improvement and risk mitigation initiatives Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 7+ years in engineering or lab environments 5+ years in project management (preferably facilities or operations) Knowledge of medium voltage, data acquisition, or power generation systems Strong communication and leadership skills Experience with project tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, or Miro Preferred: R&D or lab experience in industrial or commercial equipment settings Prior experience with Generac or similar manufacturing environments
