Labor, Employment & Workplace Safety Associate
Location: Seattle, WA
Salary: $225,000 – $295,000 + Bonus & Full Benefits

Direct Counsel is representing an Amlaw 100 firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Labor, Employment & Workplace Safety (LEWS) practice in the Seattle office. This is a compelling opportunity to work with a respected national team on a wide range of high-level employment matters, with direct client interaction and mentorship from leading attorneys in the field.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Litigate employment matters, including:

    • Class action and single-plaintiff cases

    • Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour, and other employment claims

  • Counsel employers on compliance and risk management in areas including:

    • Hiring practices, leave laws, discipline, terminations, and restrictive covenants

  • Draft and review employment-related agreements and internal policies

  • Advise on labor and employment aspects of business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions

  • (Optional) Support traditional labor relations work — prior experience a plus but not required


Candidate Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience handling employment-related litigation and counseling

  • JD from an accredited law school and active Bar membership in Washington (or eligibility for waiver)

  • Excellent writing, research, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and take initiative

  • Strong academic credentials and a client-service-oriented approach

  • A desire to grow professionally in a fast-paced and collegial team environment
