Direct Counsel is representing a AMLAW 100 firm seeking a Junior to Midlevel Labor & Employment Associate with 2–5 years of big law experience to join its dynamic Employment Practice Group in either the San Francisco or Silicon Valley office.
Position Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top-tier employment practice representing leading employers across industries. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, exceptional writing skills, and hands-on experience in employment counseling, single-plaintiff and class/collective action litigation, and workplace investigations.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a broad range of employment matters, including litigation and counseling
Assist with single-plaintiff, class, and collective action cases
Conduct and support internal investigations and compliance reviews
Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
Advise clients on employment policies, practices, and risk management
Collaborate with partners and clients on complex, high-stakes matters
Qualifications
2–5 years of labor & employment or general litigation experience at a large law firm
Strong academic record and excellent legal writing skills
Meaningful experience in employment counseling and litigation preferred
Active California Bar membership required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and on teams
Compensation
Salary Range (CA): $225,000 – $435,000 (commensurate with experience)
