POSITION SUMMARY
Prepare beverage and food orders in accordance with the Dialtone standards and recipes. Manage flow
of guests in and around cafe, reasturant, and retail area. Keep areas clean and organized. Provide great
customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Delegate and assign tasks throughout the shift for others
Administrative duties: Handling Staff Payroll and other Administrative Duties related to the
restaurant.
Maintain breaks and deployment during peaks and downtime
Process cash and reports for sales
Write daily communication reports for team and other leaders
Addressing disciplinary actions with the team members as needed
Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and create a fun experience
Taking orders: Servers take food and drink orders accurately and communicate menu items to
customers.
Serving food and drinks: Servers deliver food and beverages to customers.
Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and create a fun experience
Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipates guests’ needs.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the menu offerings.
Use Sales techniques to present and encourage current promotions to guests.
Accommodate guest dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring all modifications are
communicated effectively to the kitchen staff.
Cash handling: Record sales, operate cash registers, and handle cash payments
Proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the POS
system and Frequent Diner, Gift Card and Credit Card Terminals
Use Tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs
with patience and courtesy.
Drink preparation: Make hot and cold drinks, like coffee, tea, espresso, and cocktails, and
customize orders to customer preferences
Food service: Prepare and serve food like sandwiches, muffins, and baked goods
Manage inventory for pastries, snacks, coffee, tea, liquor, and other food/beverage ingredients.
Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, portioning, and preparing menu
items to support smooth kitchen operations.
Monitor restaurant stock levels, restocking ingredients, and supplies as needed to maintain
workflow during service hours.
Clean and sanitize in-store food surfaces, tools, and equipment regularly to ensure compliance
with food safety standards.
Deliveries: Helping other team members to unload and store deliveries
Stocking: Stock supplies and merchandise
Follow All Steps of Service
Perform Thorough Mopping and Sweeping of the floors, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and
hygiene standards are met, using the appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
Trash: Emptying trash containers and rinsing garbage cans
Spills: Cleaning up spills and broken glassware immediately
Cleaning: Washing dishes, utensils, and cookware, and cleaning kitchen appliances and
machines
Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Language Skills
Previous experience as a barista/cook/supervisor
Previous experience as a shift lead.
Restaurant and/or coffee shop experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED
