Job Details:Coastal Carolina University, Department of Nursing and Health Sciences, within the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance, is seeking applications for a nursing lecturer (clinical and laboratory instruction). This position will address instructional needs in the Nursing and Health Sciences Department, starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in educating undergraduate students in clinical and laboratory settings. Additional opportunities aligned with expertise will also be considered (e.g. RN to BSN program, pharmacology, simulation). Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master’s (or higher) degree in nursing, hold an unencumbered active license as a registered nurse in South Carolina or another Compact state, have a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered or advanced practice nurse related to the primary area of responsibility. Preferred qualifications include a record of clinical or laboratory teaching, experience in instructional settings, and experience working with nursing students and simulation.

Familiarity with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and NLN Competencies, ACEN standards, Nurse Practice Act, knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design for nursing education.Skills: Ability to teach effectively in classroom, clinical, and simulation settings using diverse modalities. Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to guide student learning. Proficiency in using learning management systems, simulation tools, and health information technology. Skill in developing rubrics, evaluating student performance, and using feedback for improvement. Clear and professional verbal and written communication with students, colleagues, and clinical partners.Abilities: Support students academically and professionally through advising and mentoring. Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, faculty committees, and external stakeholders. Participate in curriculum development, program evaluation, and faculty initiatives. Respond to diverse student needs and evolving healthcare environments. Uphold ethical standards, maintain licensure, and engage in professional development.

Job Duty:Teaches students in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical.
Job Duty:Prepares content, syllabi, and University Moodle/curricular site for each course and/or lab assigned each semester. Communicates to students after reviewing assignments. Calculates and assigns grades (e.g., mid-term and final) through established procedures listed in the Faculty Manual and University catalog. Tracks and reports absences as directed by the Office of the Registrar.
Job Duty:Posts and holds regular office hours each week per College and University guidelines. Engages in University-related activities including committee assignments, meetings, ceremonies, events and scholarly pursuits as prescribed in the Faculty Manual.
