Job Details:

The Department of Kinesiology in the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, teaching-track Lecturer position beginning August 2026. We seek candidates committed to delivering engaging academic experiences and employing innovative pedagogical approaches to foster active learning and promote student success. This non-tenure-track position carries a teaching load of five courses per semester and is focused on instruction. Teaching-track faculty appointed at the rank of Lecturer are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer and the terminal rank of Principal Lecturer. This position will have high-quality instruction across a comprehensive range of Exercise and Sport Science courses, spanning introductory to advanced major courses and will teach in both classroom and laboratory settings. Courses may include Lifetime Fitness and Physical Activity, Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Personal Fitness Leadership, Injury Management, Exercise Physiology Laboratory, Motor Behavior, and/or Biomechanics.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.Certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F), Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS), and/or Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC).Experience with online instruction supporting learning needs in a virtual environment.

Job Duty:

Teaches students in the classroom, laboratory, and/or studio.

Prepares content, syllabi, and University Moodle/curricular site for each course and/or lab assigned each semester. Communicates to students after reviewing assignments. Calculates and assigns grades (e.g., mid-term and final) through established procedures listed in the Faculty Manual and University catalog. Tracks and reports absences as directed by the Office of the Registrar.

Job Duty:

Posts and holds regular office hours each week per College and University guidelines. Engages in University-related activities including committee assignments, meetings, ceremonies, events and scholarly pursuits as prescribed in the Faculty Manual.
