This Legal & Regulatory Analyst II will be focused on corporate licensure, managing the corporate filings for each of Medica's 18 entities in multiple states. Filings include initial licensure applications and renewal applications and as well as utilization management licensure, ensuring timely filing and compliance with applicable state and federal laws. This includes HMO's, insurance companies and filings for Medica Services Company as an employer.

In addition, the Legal & Regulatory Analyst performs research and analysis of various federal and state laws and regulations related to Medica's corporate governance and regulatory/compliance matters.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage all annual registration and licensing-related filings for each Medica entity in the states in which Medica is licensed to conduct business are filed timely and accurately and in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure original corporate governance documents exist and are maintained accurately and stored according to legal and business requirements
  • Monitor and maintain registered agent status for each legal entity in state where licensed or registered
  • Prepare and update Law Department procedures regarding signing authority for contracts and other business documents
  • Assist with preparing resolutions and written actions required for governance functions as needed
  • Ensure notices and filings required by law or regulation relating to corporate governance activity (articles and bylaws changes, governing board activity) occur on a timely and accurate basis

This role will have direct interaction with regulators to meet filing requirements and respond to inquiries as needed and will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance and timely completion of filing activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Technical proficiency, including experience in working with databases and spreadsheets (Excel experience very helpful)

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI.

The full salary grade for this position is $68,800 - $118,000. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $68,800 - $103,215. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
