Job Description
Position OverviewThis position supports the Executive Director of Fiscal Services by integrating financial analysis and library assessment functions. The role monitors and reconciles budgets, extracts and analyzes data from university systems, and develops assessment metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of library services. The position also works closely with the Advisor for Strategic Initiatives & Organizational Engagement and other colleagues to lead the design and execution of assessment activities, enabling informed decision-making across KU Libraries.

- Monitor Libraries’ financial transactions for accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile accounts across university financial systems and internal tracking tools.
- Investigate discrepancies, initiate corrections, and maintain documentation.
- Act as primary point of contact for Libraries’ faculty and staff questions on financial and travel matters.
- Initiate and monitor workflows for invoice payment, university and endowment reimbursements, travel requests, internal billings, and other items as needed.
- Seek out additional resources and guidance in resolving complex inquiries and payment issues.
- Provide and maintain reports and dashboards using the Oracle-based business intelligence system used by KU (OAC/FITC).
- Assist the Fiscal Services team with collaborative projects and new initiatives
- Collect, clean, and analyze data from financial, HR, and library systems (e.g., FSKU, OAC, HR/Pay, Folio, LibInsight, etc).
- Create and/or maintain dashboards and reports to support internal and external reporting needs (including to federal agencies and national library associations).
- Develop and apply assessment metrics aligned with library goals and strategic visioning.
- Interpret data trends to inform operational improvements, strategic planning, and decision-making.
- Create reports and visualizations to communicate trends and results that illustrate the libraries’ impact, effectiveness, and value.
- Design and conduct assessments including surveys, focus groups, usability testing, and web analytics.
- Coordinate development of systems for assessment data collection and reporting.
- Correspond with vendors and project support teams.
- Consult with and train library faculty/staff on data collection and analysis methods.
- Organize peer learning and development opportunities.
- Promote data transparency and communicate insights about current trends in library assessment to empower colleagues.
- Participate in Libraries and University committees, task forces, and working groups.
- Support Digital Initiatives and other cross-unit collaborations as needed.

- Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience
- Experience developing surveys and/or other assessment tools.
- Demonstrated experience in Accounting and Finance areas.
- Experience working in an academic library.
- Experience coding and analyzing qualitative, quantitative, or textual data.
- Experience with Oracle-based systems.
- Experience supporting users of data analytics software.
- Excellent written communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
