Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Contract at Lighthouse Autism Center
Job Description
The LCSW is responsible for conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations including clinical interviews and administering the standardized assessment tool, ADOS-2 and administering and ADIR for children suspected to have autism. This role includes direct administration of the assessment with the learner, engaging with families throughout the diagnostic process, and completing high-quality written reports that support accurate and timely diagnosis.
You make your own schedule, and work can be done remotely, except the ADOS appointment does need to be conducted at our Kalamazoo East center. Position requires LCSW to complete a minimum of 1 assessment per week with report writing (approx. 10 hours).
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment Administration
- Conduct assessments using standardized tools such ADOS-2
- Score assessments and document results in diagnostic reports Ensure fidelity to standardized procedures and maintain calibration with best practices
Family Engagement
- Meet with families before, during, and after assessments to gather history, provide education, and explain next steps, if applicable
- Maintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions, ensuring families feel informed and supported
Report Writing & Documentation
- Complete detailed diagnostic reports summarizing assessment results and diagnostic considerations
- Ensure documentation is accurate, thorough, and submitted in a timely manner
- Collaborate with clinical team members to integrate multidisciplinary input when applicable
Collaboration & Compliance
- Attend team meetings, case reviews, supervision, and training sessions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and ethical standards of care
- Keep up to date on relevant diagnostic tools and continuing education in autism spectrum disorders
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree, with associated Licensure, in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field
- Current Michigan license
- Certified with administering the autism diagnostic tool ADOS-2 and ADIR
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to engage with children and families
- Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria for autism spectrum disorder
- Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to high-quality clinical documentation
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience conducting developmental assessments
- Experience working in autism evaluation clinics or multidisciplinary settings
- Bilingual a plus
