Vassar College invites applications for the position of Lifeguard. Weekend, holiday, early morning and/or late evening hours are required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall safety of all patrons in the pool area. Job responsibilities include:
- Arriving promptly each day for scheduled shift
- Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift
- Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
- Maintaining a clean pool environment
- Enforcing rules to ensure all patrons are safe
- Act as a first responder in the events of an emergency in the pool
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Current Lifeguard certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Successful completion of a pre-employment in-water practical skills test
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of lifeguard experience
