Job Description
n/naka, a California inspired modern kaiseki restaurant led by Chef Niki Nakayama, is currently seeking detail oriented, organized, positive team players who enjoy working in a small, fast-paced fine dining kitchen environment.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years experience in a fine dining, Michelin starred restaurant, or high-end Japanese restaurant. Japanese culinary knowledge/experience is a big plus.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years kitchen experience in fine-dining
- Japanese culinary experience a big plus
- Exceptional work ethic
- Advanced knife skills
- Detailed plating skills
- Ability to multitask
- Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work cleanly and efficiently with a sense of urgency
- Has excellent time management skill
- Sense of responsibility towards team
- Works well in a high pressure environments
- Great communication skills
- Takes feedback and criticism well, and has a desire to grow
- Must be willing to work 5 days (Tuesday to Saturday) and holiday special schedules
You will have the opportunity to learn about Japanese food and culture and work alongside an intimate team of highly motivated and passionate team players.
