Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the Rochester, NY office.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 5 years of litigation experience and an active license to practice law in New York State.

Job Description

  • Handle a caseload of personal injury and medical malpractice matters from intake through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery demands
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed
  • Develop litigation strategies and provide clients with regular updates
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers
  • Collaborate with colleagues in litigation and transactional practice groups to deliver comprehensive client service

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in litigation, preferably in personal injury or medical malpractice
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-focused, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional
