Alsum Transport, Inc, a subsidiary of Alsum Farms & Produce, Inc., is looking for a full-time Logistics Administrative Assistant! Alsum Farms & Produce, Inc. is a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI. The Logistics Administrative Assistant is responsible for facilitating the efficient operation of the transport department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle all paperwork in driver's room by sorting, distributing, filing, etc. (route sheets, expense sheets, trip folders)
- Utilize transportation software to check driver messages and logs, run fuel reports, enter load information, and dispatch route drivers
- Create, track, and audit driver fuel/mileage cards
- Run Motor Vehicle Records (MVR's) for Alsum Companies, including new drivers and annual review
- Work with Accounting department to invoice brokered loads and to enter deposits into ERP system
- Distribution and monitoring driver training requirements and fulfillment
- Monitor and review hours of service logs and electronic time logs
- Assist in transporting company vehicles to be serviced
- Assist Logistics Coordinator and manager as needed
- Assist with dispatching drivers
- Create and maintain driver files and information regarding routes
- Perform all other duties as necessary or assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years of experience in an administrative role
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to work in a team environment while maintaining an individual workload
- Extremely organized with strong attention to detail & excellent follow-up
- Can quickly learn new skills
- Ability to work in an environment with ongoing interruptions
- Perform job duties with a sense of urgency but with as much accuracy as possible
- Ability to improvise, respond quickly and use out of the box thinking and problem solving
- Experience with or ability to learn ERP and transportation management systems
- Ability to utilize Human Resources Information System (HRIS) software for self-service applications and notifications
